Purnell & McIntosh · Kentucky, USA

Good beer belongs
in the P.M.

The hours after the work is done and the day winds down. Handcrafted ales & lagers for that golden stretch between sundown and last call. Same place, different time.

Two meanings, one name

P.M. — Purnell & McIntosh. And the best part of the day.

Two last names on the door, and a nod to the hours we built this place for: post-meridiem. The slow, golden window after work, when the light turns and good company shows up.

We brew for that stretch of the evening — crisp lagers for the 5 o'clock sun, hazy IPAs for dusk, dark stouts for last call. Same place, different time.

The Taproom

More than a brewery

Fresh from the tank

Twelve rotating taps, all brewed a few steps from where you're standing. Flights welcome — indecision encouraged.

Live music & trivia

Local bands on Fridays, trivia on Tuesdays, and a rotating cast of Shelby's best food trucks parked out front.

Rooted in Kentucky

A gathering place built for good company — dog-friendly patio, family hours, tobacco-barn views, and a bar that remembers your name.

The People

Purnell & McIntosh

Two friends, two family names, and a garage-brewing habit that got gloriously out of hand.

What started as weekend batches shared over the fence became a shared dream: a brewery for the best hours of the day. We put both our names on the door — Purnell & McIntosh — because everything inside is a partnership: the recipes, the risk, and the reward.

After the Work Is Done

The porch light's on

We built this place for the time the day winds down — that slow, golden hour when the work's behind you and the good company shows up. Pull in, pull up a stool, and let the evening take its time.

"Best pint in the county, hands down. Last Call tastes like the end of a perfect evening — and the folks behind the bar treat you like family."
